Faithful, at the same time, to the traditions of oriental music and to the open spirit of Mediterranean music, the EMM Paris offers an oriental piano course.

The oriental piano is a new specialty in our school but also in the conservatories of the Arab world. This course is intended for beginners and classically trained pianists. This learning will allow students to play a rich repertoire of oriental music with new piano techniques. Learning is based on alternating between classical piano techniques and the study of oriental melodies.

Oriental piano lessons have the following objectives:

• Piano study with an educational and fun method

• Learn the masterpieces of this classical and contemporary Arabic (Oriental) repertoire whether instrumental or vocal music 

• The initiation of rhythmic accompaniment drawn from the structures of Arabic rhythms

• Rhythmic accompaniment in the left hand.

• Modal improvisation around the different Arabic and Oriental modes

• Techniques to avoid passages with micro tones (intervals specific to Arabic music).

Piano lessons take place in a relaxed and motivating atmosphere to ensure easy learning and a pleasant discovery of different musical styles.
