Oud course
at Arab Oud house in Cairo

From March 24 to 28, 2019
Ce stage is aimed at professional and amateur oud players already initiated to the practice of oud and wishing to perfect their playing techniques. This course is both musical and cultural, it will take place in the mythical historic district of Cairo by khan al-khalili. Visits to the pyramids and the Cairo Museum will be scheduled
Group Hjaz: minimum 3 years of instrumental practice
Group Andalous: minimum 5 years of instrumental practice
Objectives :
The course will alternate collective work and individual work supervised by the speaker.
► Discover and develop plectrum techniques.
► Approach the interpretation of Arabic instrumental and vocal forms.
► Discuss the interest of modal music in a traditional context
► Perfect your improvisation technique: individual and collective instrumental improvisation / Modal improvisation and memory : sound, phrasing, breathing, ornamentation.
