The School of Mediterranean Music in Paris offers oriental violin lessons for all levels, beginner or advanced. If you have taken violin lessons before you can continue to use the same tuning, whether it is the western violin tuning (ma-a-d-g) or the traditional eastern violin tuning (d-g-d). The teaching method of EMM allows you to easily and gradually learn the oriental violin and each level you will be able to play instrumental and vocal pieces.
Oriental violin lessons are developed around several components according to the level of the disciple:
- The acquisition of a perfect hold of the instrument and the bow for a bodily and sensitive approach to music.
- In-depth work on listening and researching sound quality for mastering simple rhythms and different bow strokes.
- Learning the left hand with finger positioning according to Arabic scales including quarter tones (half-flat and half-sharp)
- Acquisition of the first reflexes to correct accuracy and to improve the quality of the gesture.
- Study of positions and the handle.
- Progressive construction of the student through motivation and a taste for expression through phrasing and nuances. This will allow him to access improvisation.
- Practice of ensemble and/or orchestral music.
- Acquisition of an appropriate technique for performing works from the major repertoire.
