The School of Mediterranean Music in Paris is organizing, in partnership with the National Conservatory of Amman in Jordan, an Arabic music course in Amman from March 14 to 22, 2020, under the artistic and educational direction of Wassim Ben chaouacha and Tareq Jundi.
This course is aimed at amateur and professional musicians already introduced to Arabic music and wishing to perfect their instrumental and/or vocal technique. Collective workshops (max. 12 participants per group) will take place from March 15 to 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Amman Conservatory, during which teachers from the conservatory will supervise and accompany participants in mastering singing or instrumental playing techniques based on exercises and musical pieces from the classical Arabic repertoire. A musical concert will close this course.
This course is both musical and cultural, it will allow you to discover the culture and historical remains of Jordan. Four excursions are scheduled to the Amman Museum, Jerash and Ajlun, the Dead Sea and Mount Nebo, Petra and Wadi Rum.
Tareq Jundi will present on Tuesday March 17, 2020 a master class around
the history of vocal and instrumental forms of art and popular music
in Jordan and the Middle East
